Fysiikan kollokvio // Physics colloquium – Teemu Ojanen (Tampere University) Entanglement phase transitions in monitored systems

17.1. klo 10:00 - 11:00

Welcome to the first Physics Colloquium of the year on Friday 17 January 2025 at 10:00 (FYS1):

Speaker: Teemu Ojanen (Tampere University)

Entanglement phase transitions in monitored systems
An emerging research field which can be characterized as ”many-body physics in the quantum information era” studies complex quantum systems and many-body phenomenology in emerging quantum information platforms. In some ways, it can be viewed as quantum condensed matter physics in a setting which enables detailed control of all aspects of the studied system. In my talk, I describe some recent developments in monitored quantum circuits, where the monitoring can induce a phase transition between an entanglement volume-law and area-law phases.

WHAT IS COLLOQUIUM?
A short (45 min) presentation about an interesting physics topic by an expert. Presentation is designed so that you don’t need experience from that particular field!
Coffee served at 2nd floor lobby 10:00-10:15

TL;DR
